Lhasa and Mt. Everest Base Camp Group Tour

Day 1 Landing in Lhasa

When arrival in Lhasa, please look for your name sign or the group sign, our staff will be waiting for you at the train station or the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the old area of Lhasa City. Take rest for acclimatization upon arrival.

At evening (or tomorrow evening), a welcome dinner will be held for the group. We'll have customers from all over the world, enjoy yourself to meet people from different countries and culture!

Day 2 Sightseeing in Lhasa

We'll start our exploration of the old city from its suburb area. This morning, we'll visit Drepung Monastery, the world's largest Gelugpa monastery once housing more than 10,000 monks, or Drak Yerpa in the beautiful Yerpa Valley, it is a holy place with deep meanings in Tibetan spiritual culture. And in the afternoon, we'll visit Sera Monastery where you'll have the chance to see the interesting Buddhist debate between Lamas. Overnight hotel in Lhasa [B].

Day 3 Sightseeing in Lhasa

Today we'll visit the famous Potala Palace, the landmark of Lhasa and Tibet. It is located on Mt. Marpo Ri (the "Red Hill") and you can have a bird-eye view of the beautiful Lhasa valley there. And then we'll get to the old town area for Jokhang Temple, an ultimate pilgrimage destination to Tibetan pilgrims as well as the bustling Barkhor Street around the Temple. Day 4 Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse

After the sightseeing in Lhasa, we'll drive out of the city to Gyantse and Shigatse via Khambala Pass and Karola Pass. On the way to Gyantse, we'll pay a visit to the charming Yamdrok Yumtso Lake and Karola Glacier. And when arrive in Gyantse, we'll visit Pelkhor Monastery and its superb Kumbum Stupa. Then we'll drive forward to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. Overnight hotel in Shigatse [B].

Day 5 Shigatse - Mt. Everest Reserve

Get up early and we'll drive all the way (about 350km) to Rongbuk Monastery in Mt. Everest Reserve. On the way, you can get some superb view at the mountain passes. We may arrive at the monastery in late afternoon. This monastery is small and a wonderful place to view Mt. Everest. Upon arrival, you can just hang around to take photos or visit the monastery on your own at 25CNY/p.p (approx. 4USD/p.p).

In the season of May-October, we usually will carry on the last few kilometers to Mt. Everest Tent Camp for the overnight stay. and in the cold season of Nov-April, we may just stay overnight at the Rongbuk guest house. At both places, you can enjoy the glorious sunset over Mt. Everest in clear days.

Day 6 Mt. Everest Reserve - Shigatse

This morning, the breakfast is not included due to limited local condition. It is simple and expensive. You are highly recommended to bring some food from Lhasa or Shigatse such as cookies, instant coffee, etc.

We'll take the reserve's bus to Mt. Everest Base Camp. The view en route is just incredibly scenic, you'll see Mt. Everest north face dominates the skyline.. And when arrival, you can get to the small hill festooned with prayer flags for the great close view of Mt. Everest. After the sightseeing at Mt. Everest Base Camp, we'll drive back to Shigatse. Overnight hotel in Shigatse.

Day 7 Shigatse - Lhasa

Visit Tashilumpo Monastery in Shigatse and drive back to Lhasa. Overnight hotel in Lhasa [B].

Day 8 Departure

On this last day in Lhasa, you will be free in the morning and our staff will meet you at your hotel around noon (12:00PM) and drive you to the airport. if you leave by train, we'll arrange individual transport for you accordingly. Your wonderful Tibet Lhasa-Mt. Everest tour ends. [B]
