30th June 2009, Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu:
Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel (D)
01st July 2009, Day 02 Rest and Sightsee in Kathmandu:
A free day in Kathmandu to Prepare China visa,
the group will do Puja at Pashupatinath and sightseeing in Kathmandu (B,L,D)
02nd July 2009, Day 03 Sigthsee in Kathmandu:
An extra day for sightseeing in Kathmandu (B,L,D)
03rd July 2009, Day 04 Kathmandu-Kodari-Nyalam:
Entry Zhangmu border and drive to Nyalam (3750m). O/n at Guesthouse (B,D)
04th July 2009, Day 05 Nyalam-Saga:
Drive Nyalam to Saga (4500m) via Lalung La Pass, Paikutso Lake and Mt. Shishapangma (8012m), and
cross the Bhramaputra river (known here as the Yarlung Tsangpo) to Saga. O/n Hotel (B,L,D)
05th July 2009, Day 06 Saga-Parang:
Drive Saga to Paryang (4600m) through gigantic valleys. On the way to Western Tibet, you can
always have the stunning view of the snow-capped Hiamalayan Range.. O/n at camp (B,L,D)
06th July 2009, Day 07 Paryang-Lake Manasarovar:
A long drive to the most holy lake in Tibet - Lake Manasarovar (4560m). O/n at Hor-chu side, camping (B,L,D)
07th July 2009, Day 08 Lake Manasarovar-Darchen:
Puja/holy dip at the lake followed by Manasarovar parikrama in Landcruiser.
If time permits, pay a visit to the Chiu gompa. Then we'll get to Darchen (4560m), the base camp of Mt. Kailash. O/n Guesthouse (B,L,D)
08th July 2009, Day 09 Prepare for Kailsh Trekking in Darchen:
Hiring yaks and yakman for our next three day Kailash trekking. O/n Hotel (B,L,D)
09th July 2009, Day 10 Trek to Diraphuk:
Start Outer Kailash Trekking (kora / parikarma) from Darchen pass the first prostration point,
Darboch Flag Pole, the auspicious gateway and the sky burial ground to Diraphuk (5000m).
O/n at camp from where you have superb views of Mt. Kailash.
(The inner kora group will go till Darboche and return back to Darchen in the evening) (B,L,D)
10th July 2009, Day 11 Trek to Zuthulphuk:
Continue Kailash trekking over Drolma-la Pass (5610m) to Zuthul-Puk (4700m).
Just below the Dolma La is the Gauri Kund. O/n at camp
(Inner kora group will start the inner kora from Darchen and back to Darchen in the evening) (B,L,D)
11th July 2009, Day 12 End Kailash Trekking :
Crosses third and fourth prostration point, Zutul-Puk monastery & trek / drive back to near Darchen.
O/n in Guesthouse (Inner Kora group will meet the groups at the ending point of Kora and straight drive to Paryang) (B,L,D)
12th July 2009, Day 13 Arrive in Saga:
Drive to Saga. Overnight at Hotel (B,L,D)
13th July 2009, Day 14 Saga-Nyalam:
Drive to Nyalam. O/n at Guesthouse (B,L,D)
14th July 2009, Day 15 Nyalam-Kathmandu:
Drive downhill to Friendship Bridge following the gorge of Bhote Kosi River for the final leg of the journey to Kathmandu (D)
15th July 2009, Day 16 Rest in Kathmandu:
A free day in Kathmandu for shopping and rest (B,L,D)
16th July 2009, Day 17 Leave:
Final Departure ( B )
