Itinerary (13 - 14 days)
Day 01 Arrive in Lhasa
Comfortable private transfer to your hotel in Lhasa and upon arrival, rest for high altitude acclimatization.
Day 02-03 Sightsee in Lhasa
This two-day sightseeing in Lhasa will lead you to all main scenic spots of the holy city - Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery, as well as a visit to a local Tibetan family.
Day 04 Lhasa - Gyantse
In the fresh morning air, we'll drive 270km to Gyantse, a famous historical town in Tibet, crossing the Karo La Pass (5010m) and the Khamba La Pass (4800m) with a beautiful panorama of the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake on the way. Upon arrival, visit Pelkhor Monastery and its superb Kumbu Stupa, a stunning architectural wonder in Tibet.
Day 05 Gyantse - Shigatse
Drive 90km well-paved road to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. We'll visit the foremost attraction there - Tashilumpo Monastery, and then wander around the old town of Shigatse for its nicely decorated Tibetan houses, interesting market and bazaar...
Day 06 Shigate - Tingri
Drive about 250km to Tingri. Upon arrival, we wll prepare for our next few days base camp trekking, hiring yaks and yak man, etc.
Day 07 Trek to Lunjia Village (4510m, 5-7hrs), O/N Camping
Our first day trek to Everest will pass through the barley fields along a trail used by local villagers for their carts. After 3-4hrs trekking, we arrive at a large settlement where we will take a brief break and continue for another 2-3hrs to the night camp. The route continues on the path passing rocky crags topped with ruins. About an hour further from Lungja the gorge forces the track left into the hills and after half an hour climb to a ridge, we will then descend to our camp.
Day 08 Trek to Drokpa before Lamala Pass (5100m, 5-7hrs), O/N Camping
The journey descends to a river at which point the path leads gradually uphill through a wide pasture field. After crossing another glacial river, we will trek on the parth towards both Lamna La Pass (5100m) and Pang La Pass (4750m). After an hour trek uphill, we wil descend towards the valley in between Lamna-La and Pang-La.
Day 09 Trek to Drakchu River / Rongbuk River (4690m, 5-6hrs), O/N Camping
Today we'll first cross a number of creeks on the soft grassy meadow at the bottom of the Pang-la and then a further two hours of ascent to the top of Pang-la ridge. Take a rest here and steeply descend for about one hour through a number of herders camps towards the Rongbuk River where provides great views of Mt. Everest.
Day 10 Trek to Rongbuk Monastery (5100m, 6-8hrs), O/N Guesthouse
Cross a short wooden bridge to join the wide winding dirt road up and down continuing a slow ascent. After an hour we reach a downhill slope into a deep creek bed. Once past this creek, we will follow the road into a series of hills for another hour arriving at Ronbuk Monastery. We may enjoy the glorious sunset over Mt. Everest in distance here.
Tips: In warm seasons, you can trek further for another 2hrs to the Mt. Everest Base Camp on this day or take a carriage at Rongbuk Monastery there and stay overnight at the Base Camp.
Day 11 Trek to Mount Everest Base Camp (5200m, 2hrs) and drive back to Tingri
In the early morning, we'll walk or take a carriage heading about 8km to the Mt. Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival, it will be your life-long experience with this highest mountain in the world..Then we'll drive back to Tingri, our trek Everest adventure completes.
Note: The specific trekking arrangements may be little bit different as it always depends on how you feel on road and other natural factors. But there shall be no big change to the trekking route.
Day 12 Tingri - Shigatse
Drive back to Shigatse and relax there..
Day 13 Shigatse - Lhasa
Drive 280km back to Lhasa along Yarlung Tsangpu River and the rest time is free for you to explore the old city again.
Day 14 Leave
The guide will transfer you to Gonggar Airport and help you board the plane to your next destination. Your wonderful Everest hiking tour ends.

Tips: For small groups, it is advised to prepare the trek food in Lhasa (the tour guide can always help with no problem), instead of hiring an expensive cook..And it is easy to rent sleeping bags in Lhasa which usually costs around 20-30CNY/day.
